Review: American Express Premier Rewards Gold Card

Detailed Review of the Amex Premier Rewards Gold Card

The American Express Premier Rewards Gold Card is one of American Express’s newest charge cards.  Introduced in 2009 as a supercharged version of their classic Gold Card, the new Premier Rewards Gold Card offers opportunities to earn extra American Express Rewards Points when you use it on gas, groceries, and airfare purchases.

Since it’s debut, the American Express Premier Rewards Gold Card has grown to be an extremely popular choice as a go-to credit card for life’s everyday expenses.

Rewards

Cardholders of the American Express Premier Rewards Gold Card earn points through the American Express Membership Rewards program.  This program is American Express’s standard rewards program, which is also seen on the American Express Gold Card (the original Gold Card) and the Preferred Rewards Green Card.

With the American Express Premier Rewards Gold Card, you earn 3 points for every $1 spend on airfare purchases, 2 points for every $1 spent on gas and groceries, and 1 point for every $1 for everything else.  In addition to this, you can also earn between 3 points for every $1 spent when purchasing through the Bonus Points Mall.

This an excellent feature which allows the cardholder to earn points in the Membership Rewards program much faster than most other cards from American Express.
